Austin man who allegedly caused fire at his apartment arrested for DWI

A 38-year-old Austin resident was arrested for reportedly driving while intoxicated into his apartment complex as firefighters were dealing with excessive smoke in his unit because of food he left on the stove before leaving for a party, the Austin Daily Herald reported on July 14.

According to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger, the suspect drove into his apartment complex at the 600 block of Second Street Northwest while firefighters were at his apartment. He nearly drove over the fire hose equipment. Police officials gave the man a breathalyzer test and arrested him for intoxicated driving. Apparently, officers had seen him earlier in the morning in response to complaints about a loud party.

A driving while intoxicated charge is a serious offense in Texas. If you want to discuss the details of your case with a competent and trustworthy defense attorney, seek legal advice from Ian Inglis Attorney at Law by calling his Austin offices today at (512) 472-1950.
