Drunk driver convicted of intoxicated manslaughter awaits sentence

Forty-three-year-old North Texas resident Benjamin Todd Stewart, who caused a fatal drunk driving accident in Arlington in 2013, was found guilty of intoxication manslaughter by a jury on September 4, The Brownsville Herald reported.

The Tarrant County jury deliberated over the case for two days in Fort Worth before ruling that Stewart guilty was guilty of one count of failure to stop and render aid and three counts of intoxication manslaughter.

Stewart’s sentencing is to be presided over by Texas District Judge Scott Wisch, who ordered an investigation prior to better inform the sentencing.
