DWI suspect leads police chase from Austin to Buda

When an off-duty Austin Police Department lieutenant spotted a man, who has yet to be identified, driving in a reckless manner and crashing into curbs in East Austin, Texas on Tuesday, November 24, he called for officers to come right away and apprehend the suspected drunk driver.

While the driver did stop his vehicle upon seeing the officers’ lights behind him, he apparently changed his mind as they were walking towards his vehicle and proceeded to speed away as they approached. ┬áThis began a chase that took the driver and the officers all the way from Austin to Buda, where the APD were eventually able to deploy spikes in order to stop the driver by puncturing three of his four tires, flattening them to the rim.
