Twenty-three-year-old Alejandro Guzman-Lopez, after pleading guilty to a drunk driving charge related to the death of a Splendora husband and wife, on May 17, 2015, was sentenced on Wednesday, March 23, to the maximum 40 years of imprisonment for the charge with a $70,000 fine.
According to court records, Guzman-Lopez had been traveling at more than 100 miles per hour while texting while both high on marijuana and drunk when he crashed into Mr. and Mrs. Brad Frazier’s vehicle. Their car was also by their two daughters at the time of the crash. Brad and Shea, both 21, were instantly killed on impact.
Guzman-Lopez’s legal counsel, Robert Bartlett, said the defendant’s conscience prompted him to make a guilty plea, as he was feeling remorseful for his actions.
