Victoria man sentenced to 30 years in prison in child pornography case

Victoria, Texas resident Jason Terrence Leita, 39, was recently found guilty of possessing and distributing child pornography. Leita was sentenced to a total of 30 years in prison.

Leita was given a 20-year prison sentences for promoting child pornography, a 10-year prison sentences for possessing child pornography, and a $10,000 fine.

Leita will serve his sentences concurrently; after finishing his 20-year sentence he’ll then serve another 10 years in prison.

Assistant District Attorney Johna Stallings said authorities found photographs and video footage of his children and women neighbors sunbathing and swimming. These were all admitted into evidence.

Leita had his family members, a pastor, and a psychologist serving as witnesses for him. Linda Jonckers, Leita’s mother, said he was receiving special education when he was of a slightly younger age.
